Trader Joe’s has put sweet heat into honey sauce, mustard and snacks. Pick the product for the job: a drizzle for cooked pizza, a condiment for a sandwich, or popcorn to pour into a bowl.
This independent guide separates current product information from older names and serving ideas. Check your store’s selection and the package you are buying. We have not taste-tested these products or verified local stock.
Spicy Honey Sauce: check the current bottle
The current Trader Joe’s Spicy Honey Sauce page describes a 12 oz bottle with honey, distilled white vinegar and natural flavors including chili extract. Trader Joe’s says this version is hotter and four ounces larger than the earlier bottle. Use the current label when comparing bottles; older coverage may describe another formula or size.
Start with a small drizzle and taste the food before adding more. Some uses need only a finishing touch:
- Drizzle it over margherita, pepperoni or vegetable pizza after cooking.
- Offer it alongside cooked fried chicken, tenders or a chicken sandwich.
- Spoon a little over roasted Brussels sprouts, carrots or sweet potatoes.
- Try a small amount with pancakes, waffles or cooked bacon.
- For drinks, follow the measured method in our hot honey simple syrup guide. A thick bottled sauce and a measured syrup need different handling.

Do not give honey or foods containing honey to children younger than 12 months; Oregon State University Extension’s honey guidance explains the infant warning and separate infusion precautions.
Hot Honey Mustard and the refrigerated dressing
Trader Joe’s Hot Honey Mustard is a separate 9 oz squeeze-bottle condiment. Its ingredients include prepared mustard, mayonnaise, honey and cayenne pepper, and its label declares egg. Use the bottle’s current ingredient and storage directions.
It can be a sandwich spread or a dip beside pretzels. Put a small portion in a separate serving dish. For a homemade honey-and-mustard combination, see the honey and mustard section of our dressing guide. That pairing does not reproduce the retail product.
Hot Honey Mustard Dressing is a different product. The recalled package was a refrigerated 12 fl oz bottle. A Fresh Creative Foods recall notice posted by FDA in March 2025 covers the dressing with use-by date May 27, 2025 because an incorrect label omitted peanut, soy, sesame and wheat allergen declarations. Customers were told to return that affected item for a refund or discard it. The notice concerns a specific dressing and date; it does not establish a recall of the mustard or every hot-honey product.
For a dressing you have, check its own label and refrigeration instructions. Use an appropriate portion on leafy greens, a grain bowl, coleslaw or potato salad. Its name alone does not establish a safe marinade method: reserve a clean portion for serving before any marinade touches raw meat, and follow USDA’s handling guidance and a recipe for the food you are cooking.
Illustrative photograph unavailable.Hot Honey Popcorn
The retailer’s Hot Honey Popcorn page lists a 7 oz, limited-time product made with honey powder and cayenne pepper. It declares milk and says it may contain almond and pecan. Check the package before sharing or adding it to a snack mix.
Pour it into a bowl for movie night or use a small portion in a party mix with dried fruit, chocolate or nuts, checking each ingredient for your guests’ needs. Popcorn balls and brittle need a complete recipe with its own quantities and hot-sugar method. The seasoned snack’s product description does not supply that recipe.
Illustrative photograph unavailable.Hot Honey Fudge: a historical reference
Trader Joe’s mustard description mentions earlier hot-honey products including fudge, goat cheese, dressing and popcorn. That reference does not give the fudge’s current package, ingredients or availability.
If you have a package of Hot Honey Fudge, follow its own label. We have not verified a chocolate base or instructions for melting it into an ice-cream topping, spreading it on toast, dipping fruit, swirling it into brownies or stirring it into hot chocolate. Use a recipe written for the confection you actually have. For separate recipes using bottled hot honey, see our hot honey dessert guide.

Sweet heat can also start with ingredients already in your kitchen. Try these serving combinations at home:
- Follow a hot-honey barbecue sauce recipe for a grill sauce or dip.
- Use a complete glazed-nut recipe for almonds or cashews, then follow its cooling and storage directions.
- Offer honey separately beside cheese and crackers. Our hot honey charcuterie ideas cover that serving approach.
- Make a small amount of honey butter with a suitable recipe for toast, cornbread or muffins.
- Add a little honey to a cooked pizza.
- Drizzle a small amount over an individual scoop of ice cream.
Check Trader Joe’s current information before looking for a prepared retail version. These kitchen ideas do not announce future products.

Trader Joe’s General FAQs say its products are sold only in its physical stores and that it has no authorized online sales through third-party sites such as Amazon or eBay. Use the official store directory to find a location and ask its crew about the product you want. A mention on the website does not guarantee a bag or bottle on your local shelf.
Choose one item for a use you already have in mind. Check its ingredients, pack size, storage directions and actual store price. We have not verified a price comparison between Trader Joe’s and other honey brands.
